Happy 1st Birthday on July 1st to the happiest, most captivating, loving, little girl this world has ever seen. I am so thankful to be her mama! Brad and I couldn't be luckier parents! Blakely has blessed our lives in too many ways to count. I never thought I would love being a mom so much! It is truly the most incredible thing I have ever done in my life. I am always so amazed at how smart my little angel is! She is such a smart little bug, learns so quickly. She is capable of much more then I ever imagined she would be at only 1year old.
Blakely at 1yr old
Blakely LOVES animals! Alive or dead and mounted on the wall... she loves them!
Blakely loves to ride Papa's horses! Her little heart melts every time she is on them. She gets on bareback and lays forward wrapping her arms around the horse as far as she can reach with the biggest smile you will ever see on her face!
Blakely loves dogs as well. Little ones she can get kind of rough and tough with but her Mammie's chocolate lab, Sadie is her best friend. She says, "Sadie" a clear as day. When she sleeps over at Mammie and Papa's she has to let Sadie in the house before bed and just hugs her. Blakely and Sadie walk all over Mammie and Papa's yard and field together. They are BEST friends!
Blakely also loves Mammie and Papa's goat, cows, sheep's.and rooster. When she sleeps over at their house she wakes up at 530am to the rooster crowing and tries to immitate it, waking up everyone in the house. She goes out side at about 7am and stays outside 95% of the day.
Blakely LOVES anything and everything outside.
Blakely loves her stuffed animals (baby dolls are not her favorite but if nothing else is around she will play with them). Her favorite stuffed animals is her stuffed horse and dog, Jingle.
Ever since Blakely was just 4-5 months old she has been fascinated with the deer mounted on our walls as well as the deer and elk at her Mammie and Papa's house.
Blakely is very close with both of her Grandparents. Brad and I have enjoyed how much she loves them both! She has lots of fun with both of them and loves her aunts and uncles as well.
She has 2 uncles that try to use her as a chick magnet. (sadly it works out well for them)
Blakely started walking at just 91/2 months, she crawled at 6 months, and sat up at 4 months.
Blakely's first word was kind of a "mum" but now that is the word she NEVER says. She is a big time daddy's girl! She says, "dad" and "daddy" LOTS! If I say,"where is daddy?" she runs all over the house looking and yelling, "daddy" with her hand up in the air.
Daddy is definitely her favorite person!
Blakely is a busy body! She is on the go 24/7! She is definitely one who has to learn for herself. Telling her, "No, that will hurt." just doesn't do it. She has to get hurt 20 different times doing it before she realizes that it's something she just shouldn't do. She is very stubborn and persistent in trying to get her way!
Blakely is a great sleeper but when she decides she would rather play then go to bed it leads to long nights of her crying herself to sleep. When we started a sleeping routine with her a 7 months, she started puking instantly in her crib. Which of course after that happened we would just keep her up until she fell asleep in our arms. After a while of that I started to think something was wrong. I called Dr. Claytons office and the nurse talked to Dr. Johnson about it and they let me know that it was purely stubbornness! His advice to me was to start a routine (something that I could also handle emotionally) and stick with it regardless. He said if she pukes, don't bath her. Just quickly clean her up and change bedding and put her right back to bed. It took about a week of that before she just finally gave it up and went to sleep.
I just hope this stubbornness and persistent behavior of hers is something she channels towards something good when she is older. If so, she will go far. She loves learning new things and being involved. She is a tough little girl and knows how to stand her ground with older kids. In fact she has put a few 3-6 year olds in tears. Brad and I laugh and are a little proud of how tough she is! We both are thankful she isn't a sissy/prissy girl! I don't think we would know how to handle one of those... lol
She is at a funny age where she just talks lots of crazy jibirish! She shakes her finger and goes off like she is letting you have it! So funny! She blows lots of kisses and gives lots of actual kisses! She is so sweet and fun! Blakely also loves to dance!! She is quite the little dancer at 7 peaks and anytime she hears music really. In the car we turn on some fun songs and she will shake her head side to side dancing with a smile on her face! We love Blakely to pieces! She is so cute and perfect!
She loves water! She actually just surfed for her first time behind the boat this week with daddy. She thought is was the greatest thing ever! We love her adventurousness and willingness to try anything!
Blakely is also going to be a big sister expected date January 30th,2013. They will almost be 18 months apart to the day! So crazy! But I think she will be a great big sister, she has a cute little nurturing side to her!
